This might not be so much about knitting as it is about the sudden rush of shit to the head that has caused me to be dabbling in more things.
I've introduced myself to a couple more hobbies this week. I cannot believe I just wrote that sentence.
Here are the clues:
Actually both are resurrected hobbies. Running and Sewing. Good Gawd. Where did my knitting time just go???
I used to be a sprinter in Junior High and High School and I took a quilting (piecing) class once, years ago. The picture of the trail above is adjacent to my property (well, runs right through it) and it is approximately 80 miles long. Lots of bikes and runners. Now I am amongst the runners. I was inspired in part by Carrieoke. She is so high energy and has taken on running, although she said she wasn't really running so much in the 104 degree weather that Georgia is now having. I told Carrie that the only way I'd run in 104 degree weather is if someone had a gun to my head. And that, my friends, is true.
last night I made this pillow.
This is ambitious considering I haven't touched a sewing machine in (I'm not going to tell you how many) years. There are so many fabulous patterns out there for bags and reconstructing old clothing. I dearly love knitting. This will NOT turn into a sewing blog.
Update on knitting: almost done with one (yes, just one) Charade sock. I really want to learn how to do socks on two circulars someday. I know there are good references out there but I just haven't seriously pursued one yet.
Adding new knitting techniques does not qualify as a new hobby. So There.
Just picked up the knew Interweave Knits. I'll be busy knitting/deciding on patterns/falling off the yarn diet wagon.
